You're invited to take part in the Yo Illo group show.
Only submit your work if you agree with the terms below.
Submissions
You can submit as many artworks as you want but we may choose 1-2 works per person. If you have a series of small works to be hung together, please submit as one submission.Fee
An administration fee of £3 is applicable to cover the admin cost of running the show.Dropping off artwork.All artwork must be dropped at Candid Arts between 10am & 12noon on the day of the exhibition.Hanging
The artwork should be framed and ready to hang with strings or mirror plates. Canvases can be hung on the stretcher. Works on paper can be hung using magnets or bulldog clips (artist to provide).Work that is not ready to hang may not be included in the show as hanging time is very limited. The hanging will be done by the gallery staff and a few willing Yo Illo volunteers.Labels will be created for each artwork with title, size, medium & price including the gallery's 35% commission. This information will be taken directly from the submission form, so please enter this carefully.Small works
If there is enough appetite, we may also have a table of small works for sale (cards, badges, stickers, notebooks etc). This will be limited and will only be open to those who have existing stock, clearly marked with the artist's name and price. Do not bring small works unless agreed in advance.Exhibition NightThe gallery will be open to the public at 6pm until 10pm and the Candid Art Bar will be serving drinks.
Each artist is advised to promote the evening as much as they can. Candid will also list the night on its website & social media channels. Artists are encouraged to invite friends and family.Collection of Artwork.Artwork to be collected between 10am and 12 noon the day after the show. OR, if the artist attends the event until closing, they may take their artwork home that night.Storage can be arranged for a negotiated fee for artwork that is not picked up between 10am -12 noon. To arrange this please email Candid Arts directly.CommissionA commission of 35% is taken by the gallery on sales by the gallery which goes to help support the Candid Arts Centre. Bank transfer for sales will be made the following week minus the 35% commission.Other StuffYou warrant that you are either the sole owner of the copyright of the work and all items comprising the work, or you have written permission of the owner of the copyright for the work to be used in this exhibition and for its use by Candid Arts Trust and the use of any photographs, transparencies or slides of the work, or part of it, as we see fit, in publicising the exhibition.You also warrant the work will contain nothing obscene, blasphemous, libellous or otherwise unlawful and will not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third party.You will keep Candid Arts Trust and Yo Illo volunteers fully indemnified against all losses, and all actions, claims, proceedings, cost and damages (including any damages or compensation paid by Candid Arts Trust on the advice of its legal advisors to compromise or settle any claim) and all legal costs or other expenses arising out of breach of any of the above warranties or out of any claim by a third party based on any facts which, if substantiated, would constitute such a breach.Insurance of the work is the responsibility of the artist.
